The lead round ball is the mainstay of traditional black-powder shooting. For years, shooters had to buy casting equipment and make their own from molten lead. Cast balls can have irregularities that rob accuracy. We set out to change that.
We make SPEER round balls by cold-swaging, so there are no voids that can ruin a good group. They are exceptionally round and uniform, and packed in reusable plastic boxes to keep them clean. We use dead-soft lead for best performance.
We offer a variety of diameters to fit the many makes and styles of original and replica muzzle-loading firearms. Follow your gun maker's recommendations for ball diameter. Rifle balls should be cloth-patched; revolver balls should be slightly larger than the chamber throat diameter.
